Fox Van Allen with Techlicious recently described the steps to get Apple Pay up and running on your new iPhone in:  iOS 8.1: How to Get Started with Apple Pay.  Van Allen lists 4 steps including:

    • Download and Install iOS 8.1 - connect  to Wi-Fi and install iOS 8.1 by tapping Settings, then General, then Software Update.

    • Add Your Card Account to Apple Pay - enter the Passbook app. and agree to allow Passbook to access your location. Then tap the new “Set Up Apple Pay” link under the section titled Credit and Debit Cards. You will need to enter your Apple ID and password. Choose the debit or credit card that you wish to be connected, the simplest option is to choose the card you already have associated with iTunes. Also, if your bank is fully supporting Apple Pay, you can see and review your recent transactions through Passbook.

    • Use Apple Pay in Stores -  Many major retailers are available for Apple Pay including Macy's, Chevron, Office Depot, McDonalds, Sports Authority and Walgreens.  When you are ready to pay, tell the cashier that you wish to pay with Apple Pay.
